About the artwork
The story behind the piece.
Woodcock Study captures the distinctive shape and beautifully intricate markings of the woodcock in flight — a bird so closely associated with the British countryside.
Created in coloured pencil, the drawing focuses on the subtle pattern, texture and movement of the bird, celebrating the quieter details that make this elusive species such a special subject.
