My aim is to capture more than simply what they look like — it's the expression, character and little details that make them unmistakably yours.

Each Mulberry & Hare portrait is individually hand drawn in coloured pencil, carefully capturing the character, expression and details that make your pet uniquely yours.

Reference Photos

To create a bespoke pet portrait, a good-quality photograph is essential. Ensure your pet's eyes are clearly visible and their personality shines through their pose and expression.

Take photos in natural lighting—by a window or outdoors—and avoid direct sunlight. The better the photograph, the more accurate the portrait will be.

Send original image files via email rather than screenshots or app transfers, as these lose quality. One main photo will be used for the final artwork, but sending a selection helps Jess understand your pet's unique character better.

Unsure if your photos will work? Send a selection and Jess can advise. She's also happy to work with photographs of pets no longer with us.

Book Your Portrait

Once you've chosen your portrait size and gathered reference photos, contact Jess to secure your booking. Please note that portraits are often booked in advance, so let us know if you have a specific deadline and we'll do our best to accommodate.

A 50% deposit is required to confirm your commission. This deposit is forfeited if reference materials aren't provided within the agreed timeframe—full terms are included with your invoice. The remaining balance is due upon completion, once you're satisfied with the portrait. Monthly instalments can be arranged if preferred.

Before we begin, you'll receive confirmation of all details for your approval.

Completion & Delivery

Upon completion of the portrait and you are satisfied with the finished artwork, an invoice for the remaining payment will be sent. Next, it will be professionally mounted, elegantly wrapped, and dispatched for delivery. 

If prints of the original artwork are sought, they can be created for an additional fee. It is important to note that this choice should be made prior to the dispatch of the artwork, as the prints will be colour matched to the original. Professional framing is also an option and can be quoted upon request.
