About the artwork
The story behind the piece.
The Iridescent Rise captures a mallard lifting into flight, wings spread to reveal the flashes of colour and intricate feather detail often hidden when the bird is at rest.
Created in coloured pencil, the piece celebrates movement, texture and the rich iridescent tones of one of Britain’s most recognisable waterfowl.
