Booking your bespoke pet portrait.
Reference photographs
To create a bespoke pet portrait that truly captures the character of your beloved companion, a high-quality photograph is essential. It is crucial to emphasise your pet's unique character through their pose and expression.
For optimal results, aim to take the photograph in natural lighting—preferably by a window or outdoors—avoiding direct sunlight, which can create harsh shadows. Please ensure that your pet's eyes are clearly visible, as they are often the window to their personality. Remember, the better the photograph, the more accurate and lifelike the drawing will be.
While primarily one main photo will be used for the final artwork, providing a selection of images would be ideal. This allows a deeper understanding of your pet's character, ensuring that the portrait reflects their unique spirit.
If you have any doubts about the suitability of your photographs, do not hesitate to send a selection and Jess can provide guidance on capturing the perfect shot and advise on which images may work best for your portrait. It also needs to be the original image, rather than screenshots or photos that have been transferred through apps as they degrade the quality. The best way to send photos is via email.
It understandable that some of your pets are sadly no longer with us, but don't worry, Jess will do her best to work with the photographs you have.
